Boy Bands

Every decade had its group of heartthrobs and the '90s was no different. The “boy band” genre can be traced back to the 1950’s Doo-Wop bands, through the 60’s (the Beatles could be considered the “boy band” of the decade) and into the 1970’s, an era that produced such memorable groups as the Jackson 5 and the Osmonds.

After a brief break during the 80's, boy bands came back with a vengeance in the 1990's when the genre peaked with such recognizable groups as The Backstreet Boys, Hansen, NSync and New Kids on the Block.
