In the 1970’s the polyester Leisure Suit was THE fashion staple that every man wanted to have. From the boardroom to the boardwalk, this ubiquitous attire could be seen on young and old alike. Leisure Suits could be found everywhere, and in every colour - from bright orange to powder blue (a 1970’s era favourite) to the once-popular avocado green, believe it or not.
The Leisure Suit era reached its apex in 1977 when John Travolta became the pinnacle of style wearing one in his famous pose from Saturday Night Fever. After that, fashion moved on to more practical - and more appealing-looking options.
